A Family Firm. An Industrial Backbone.

Since 1985, GML Contractors has been a cornerstone of industrial progress in Trinidad & Tobago. Family-owned, hands-on, and locally accountable — delivered to global standards.

Our story

Forty years of
powering progress.

We started in 1985 with a single welding rig and one phone number. Forty years on, we still answer the phone — and we still do the work.

Today GML is one of Trinidad & Tobago's largest privately-held multi-disciplinary industrial services firms. Fourteen service lines, a 200-strong workforce, a fleet of over 200 DNV-certified rental units, and an independent ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Type-A accredited inspection body.

Still family-owned. Still based in San Fernando. And every form, inspection and report now runs on GML Connect — our cloud field-to-office platform — so paperwork no longer lags the work.

What we stand for

Four operating principles.

Safety, Not Theatre

STOW certified. NACE / AMPP supervision. One million incident-free man-hours on Atlantic LNG. Safety we live — not safety we market.

Standards Above All

ISO 17020 Type-A. AWS / ASME IX. Lloyd's & DNV approvals. The certifications international operators specify by name.

Local Accountability

Forty years in T&T means we know the regulations, the routes and the realities. One named operations lead per project — every project.

24/7/365

Industrial operations don't keep office hours. Neither do we. Our 24/7 line is staffed by humans, not menus.

HSSEQ

Safety as
the operating system.

Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality is the framework underneath every job. We operate to the highest industry standards — ISO 9001:2015 quality management, STOW certification, OSHA compliance — with an emphasis on zero harm, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Our policies

Written down. Lived daily.

Our HSSEQ commitments aren't filed away — they govern how every crew mobilises, works, and stands down. Read the policies that protect our people, our clients, and the environment.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Policy A safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace for every employee, contractor, visitor and client — on every job site, facility, and project.

To achieve our HSE goals, GML Contractors Ltd. will:

  • Identify potential hazards, assess associated risks, and implement effective controls to minimise or eliminate them.
  • Prevent accidents, injuries, and health impairments through safe systems of work and a safety-first culture.
  • Establish clear procedures for incident and accident reporting, and take corrective action when needed.
  • Provide the resources to support HSE management, including emergency preparedness and response.
  • Comply with all applicable legal, statutory, and contractual HSE obligations.
  • Ensure HSE standards are communicated and implemented — even in third-party and subcontractor arrangements.
  • Deliver training, instruction, and supervision to maintain high employee competence and awareness.
  • Integrate health, safety, and environmental responsibilities into daily operations, and review the policy regularly.
  • Monitor, inspect, and audit to verify HSE performance and continual compliance.
  • Ensure safe working conditions, tools, and equipment to minimise or eliminate incidents.
  • Engage employees in the development and review of HSSEQ performance.
  • Ensure the safe handling, transportation, and storage of hazardous substances.

At GML, safety is not just a policy — it's a core value.

Environmental Policy We are committed to conducting our operations in a manner that protects, preserves, and enhances the environment — minimising impact at every level of the business.

GML will:

  • Comply fully with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and state standards.
  • Consider and assess all potential environmental impacts associated with our operations.
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders who promote environmental responsibility.
  • Adopt industry best practices and local environmental standards.
  • Minimise the generation of waste — especially hazardous waste — and promote reuse and recycling.
  • Control pollution, emissions, effluent, and waste at the source using the most effective tools available.
  • Educate and train all employees on environmental awareness and responsibilities.
  • Require that all environmental incidents are reported and documented for corrective action.
  • Conduct a formal Environmental Risk Assessment annually.

A solemn commitment to operate in a way that avoids harm to the environment — protecting natural resources for the generations that follow.

Stop-Work Policy Following Critical Incidents Every team member has the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions are observed. No work resumes until authorised by appropriate management.

A stop-work order may be verbal or written, issued by any employee, supervisor, or manager upon identification of a critical incident — including serious injury or fatality, significant structural damage, major environmental release, or any event with potential to cause severe harm.

1
Stop Work

Critical equipment is safely shut down per site-specific emergency procedures.

2
Notify

Supervisor / Manager and HSE Department notified; affected personnel informed.

3
Manage

Emergency Management Team responds per the Emergency Response Plan.

4

5

6
